The name Parnassia has a few origins.

* It’s one of the finest and rarest flowers that grows mainly in dunes. – white, small, pretty and quite simple.

* The Parnassians were a group of 19th-century French poets who strove for “exact and faultless workmanship”.

* In the Greek mythology Mount Parnassus became known as the home of poetry, music, and learning.

* The Parisian region of Montparnasse became famous at the beginning of the 20th century, referred to as the Années Folles (the Crazy Years), when it was the heart of intellectual and artistic life in Paris.

* Finally, Parnassia is one of the finest places along the coast of Holland. Despite the thundering storms and waves, the restaurant has always been a beacon, positioned on top of the dunes, overlooking the North Sea. Nice place to watch the sunset.
